Job Description
An OT (Operation Theatre) Technician assists surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring a safe and sterile environment. They manage surgical equipment, monitor patient conditions, and support the medical team throughout operations. OT Technicians play a crucial role in maintaining surgical efficiency and patient safety in hospitals, clinics, and specialized surgical centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare operation theatre and sterilize surgical instruments before surgery.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during various surgical procedures efficiently.
- Maintain sterile conditions to prevent infection during surgical operations.
- Handle, clean, and maintain all surgical instruments and equipment.
- Monitor patient vitals and ensure comfort during surgical operations.
- Manage surgical inventory and replenish supplies as per requirement.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and safety standards always.
- Support post-operative care and assist in patient transfer.
Skill & Experience
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and operating room procedures.
- Ability to maintain strict hygiene and sterilization standards always.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills under pressure situations.
- Quick decision-making ability during emergency or critical surgeries.
- Technical proficiency in handling and maintaining surgical equipment efficiently.
- Understanding of patient care, safety, and medical ethics thoroughly.
