Lovely Professional University

Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a private state university established in 2005 under special legislation and began operations in 2006. Located in Phagwara, Punjab, its sprawling rural campus covers approximately 600 acres and is often described as a self-contained mini-city. The infrastructure includes modern classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, a massive central library with multiple branches, sports complexes, hostels, a hospital, student-run shopping mall, food courts, banks, and other amenities.

LPU’s core mission is higher education across diverse fields. It offers more than 200 programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral levels, spanning disciplines such as engineering, management, law, pharmacy, agriculture, hotel management, social sciences, design, humanities, architecture, and more, organized across over 20 constituent schools.

The university delivers services including on-campus instruction, state-of-the-art facilities, robust placement support, industry-driven curriculum, and distance-education options via dedicated platforms and regional support centers. It fosters industry collaboration through centers of excellence powered by partners like SAP, Microsoft, Dell EMC, Informatica, Bosch, KPIT, Pega, and Automation Anywhere, embedding practical training and certifications into academic programs.

LPU’s “clients” are its students—approximately 30,000-plus enrolled, including a sizable international cohort from over 50 countries. While LPU has only one main campus, it maintains admission and outreach offices across India to support prospective and distance learners.
