About Candidate

Soko is a Zimbabwean multidisciplinary artist, choreographer, researcher, and performer working at the intersection of dance, live music, ritual, and sound. His practice bridges traditional Zimbabwean performance with contemporary movement, exploring themes of spirituality, migration, Blackness, resistance, and memory. Rooted in ancestral philosophies and embodied research, his work engages voice, rhythm, and physical architecture as tools for storytelling and political reflection. Through performances, installations, and collaborative projects, he creates immersive experiences that interrogate identity, belonging, and the poetics of resilience across cultures.
