Sonographers or Ultrasound Technologists operate advanced imaging equipment to capture diagnostic ultrasound images. They assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions, monitor patient health, maintain imaging accuracy, and ensure safe, professional patient care throughout examinations.
Responsibilities
- Operate ultrasound imaging machines for diagnostic medical examinations.
- Prepare patients carefully before conducting ultrasound imaging procedures.
- Analyze image quality ensuring accurate diagnostic medical reporting.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and healthcare medical professionals.
- Explain imaging procedures clearly to nervous or anxious patients.
- Record patient imaging data accurately within healthcare systems.
- Follow healthcare regulations, safety standards, and infection-control procedures.
Required Skills
