I was tasked with recovering lost know-how for a high-speed magnetic bearing spindle. The system was unstable and multivariable. By returning to first principles and utilizing frequency response acquisition, I successfully reverse-engineered the system dynamics.
On a second system, I synthesized and deployed a robust controller in less than a week, despite starting with limited prior exposure to active vibration control.
After intensive bibliographic analysis of the academic research on conductive inks, I used a first-principles approach to formulation. In a short timeframe, I developed a conductive ink that optimized the conductivity/adhesion trade-off, resulting in a product that outperformed existing industrial standards.
