Job Description
Sub Editor (Bilingual: Hindi & English) is responsible for editing, proofreading, and translating news or feature content with precision and linguistic balance. The role ensures clarity, factual accuracy, and consistency across both languages. The editor collaborates closely with writers and senior editors to maintain editorial standards and style guides, ensuring engaging and culturally appropriate content for print, digital, and broadcast platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread bilingual content ensuring grammatical and factual accuracy.
- Translate news articles between Hindi and English maintaining meaning.
- Coordinate with reporters and senior editors for content clarity.
- Ensure style, tone, and terminology consistency across both languages.
- Write engaging headlines and captions suitable for target audiences.
- Verify information sources to ensure journalistic credibility and authenticity.
- Manage tight deadlines and multitask in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Assist in digital publishing and optimize content for SEO ranking.
Skill & Experience
- Excellent command over Hindi and English writing and grammar.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in translation maintaining tone and contextual relevance.
- Familiarity with SEO practices and digital publishing tools.
- Time management and multitasking abilities under editorial pressure.
- Knowledge of current affairs and media ethics in journalism.
